After widespread appeal, a second post-mortem was conducted at the Guwahati Medical College, a decision announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The funeral procession is scheduled to start from Saru Sajai Stadium, where fans had gathered to pay their last respects. The 52-year-old artiste died on September 19 following a scuba diving accident in Singapore. In order to pay tribute to the beloved singer, his footprints have been preserved as a lasting legacy by artist Digandar Bharti. The Chief Minister said the government will arrange buses for 85 people, including artistes, who will be part of the last journey to the cremation ground in Sonpur.
